From 3.5, the downloads are now correctly registered.

The main feature of this update is the notification system.
On the new settings page, you can select where to get which type of notifications.
When logged in, a comment is posted as you, and not anonymously. You can comment on other comments. There are also overviews for comments you made and comments on the quests you submitted.
You can also choose between a 'day' and 'night' theme in the settings.

The next update (3.7) is planned to give registered accounts the ability to submit a quest(map) via the website and a time setting. This way you can see timestamps in your own time instead of UTC.
